Here’s my take.
Enchanted Eventide
I walk the dreamy woodland path, this quiet
spring twilight. The path curves, I find a glade,
a circle lit by sun in leafy shade.
I pause, spellbound by this unearthly space.
Then I hear voices, nearer, louder, near,
jeering through the trees, raucous spirits, wild,
drunken. They draw me to their mis-rule whirl.
They throw me aside. I am hypnotised.
They dance my feet, they spin me round, I sink.
I blink awake, an hour gone by, it’s dark.
The bluebells sigh. No sounds at all, all calm.

How lovely to have inspired such a work of art! An unintended layer was added to it at this end, my son is listening to Nickleback’s Rock Star so I was reading it to that beat. It worked quite well!
