Country Roads : where do they lead us ?
It’s a place I dream of, where I was born, my home. Small rural spot in the middle of nowhere. My dream is with me wherever I go and I’ve been around. Slipping into sleep, I’m there standing on that quiet country road where I belong.
One trip I was nearby, thought why don’t I drop by my home town ? See if Aunt Ginny’s still there. Park the truck, walk down the main street. It’s quite empty, no people. Is this it ?
My dream turns to dust. It’s just a forgotten place.

Wow, that is a sad piece. Nicely done. One thing… this is What Pegman Saw, not Friday Fictioneers. Rochelle is a regular contributor and inspired us to create the prompt. I hope you continue to participate!

Such a haunting little story. Well describes the sense of dreaming and left me with goosebumps. So great to see you on Pegman!
