Velocity
These penthouse windows, only open three inches. Hah ! health and safety that’s why, control no fresh air.
What goes through a three inch gap ? A slice of pastrami ? A peanut ? A peppermint – oh I have one in my pocket. Ooops it’s just popped through the gap.
Wheeee – watch it go, down down, down, down –
a gravity sped bullet, faster and faster – plummeting pieces of peppermint exploding over
pedestrians, pulverising into powder dusting the pavements.
That’s velocity for you.

I’m glad it didn’t hit anyone. Loved the image of peppermint powder dusting the pavements!

Rather peppermint than pastrami. Most amusing!

Thank you. Doesn’t bear thinking about – a slice of pastrami coming for you at full speed, does it ?

I’m picturing a little kid, bored to death and disallowed the freedom of the great outdoors without being accompanied by an adult. Great story here. Well done.

Thank you – think you’re right about the bored kid – stuck in an office say, adults all busy elsewhere, thinking .. what happens if …

Thanks – glad you like it. I was thinking about small scale frivolity !

Hi, this was very prescient! I was just lying in the bath this morning and considering the small sliver of sky I view around my open bathroom window. I love to watch the colour change as dawn breaks compared to the more subdued colour of the misted windows. The velocity defies gravity through this crack as sea gulls swoop upwards with their piercing cry. x

I’m pleased to be prescient ! Your reflections from the bath are so poetic I think. Sounds like a meditative way to start the day.

That was great fun!
