Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers this week inspires us with an intriguing photo prompt.
Here’s my 100 word story.
OVERHEARD
Mo: Not what you’d expect at a family re-union….
Bo: No. Wonder why they asked him ?
Mo: He is our cousin.
Bo: How do deal with someone – you know – “like that” ? Gotta be careful.
Mo: His father’s so touchy about it…
Bo: What made him like that do you think ?
Mo: Run in with the police – strings were pulled. And that incident in Tibet… bad business.
Bo: Apparently he has a good sense of humour.
Mo : Really. Who has just arrived ? There’s a woman in a Porsche outside, she’s come to take him away.

“That incident in Tibet” – well that explains everything. Great stuff.

Thank you James, I appreciate your feedback. I enjoyed including the ‘incident in Tibet ‘!

Perfect ending for a flash.

Thank you, glad you liked the woman with the Porsche ending.

I think Bo and Mo might be well advised to not get too involved with their cousin!
July 14, 2018 at 3:01 pm
I think you’re right Iain, though they like a good scandal to talk about ?
July 14, 2018 at 5:02 am
I wonder what he’s into? Intriguing!
July 14, 2018 at 3:02 pm
Thanks Ali. What do you think he’s into ? Something arty and bohemian I imagined.
July 15, 2018 at 4:21 pm
I was thinking something a little less legal 🙂
July 14, 2018 at 3:43 am
And now I have “She’s coming to take him away, ah-hah!” in my head…

Very good Dale ! I’d forgotten about that song – now it’s all coming back to me.
July 14, 2018 at 3:17 pm
Uh-oh… sorry ? 😉

An intriguing story. I can’t help wondering what minority group he belonged to, to be referred to as being “like that” (that might have been how you referred to a gay man thirty years or so ago, for example).
July 14, 2018 at 3:07 pm
Thanks Penny. In was trying to make it as ambiguous as possible in the story, and to convey Mo & Bo’s assumptions about a person who appears to be different from themselves.

Dear Francine,
You ended with a page turner. I wonder who the woman in the Porsche is? I’m sure Bo and Mo want to know, too. 😉 Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Appreciate your feedback Rochelle. The photo is so intriguing – air of mystery around the figure, I found.
