Rochelle’s challenge this week is prompted by a magical scene. Can you write a story in 100 words ? Here’s mine.
SUNSET AND DREAMS
The sky melts into a muted indigo sunset. Candle-lit dreamboats carry their freight of messages towards the horizon. ………………………………………………………………………………………….
” Let there be world peace”
“Vegans unite and rule the world”
“Only connect”
“Give me spider-man’s powers”
“Let my son be a dentist”
“Stop human trafficking”
“Save me from chocolate”
“May my dog live forever”
“Make that bad man return my money”
“Please let Nana get better”
“The end of the world is nigh”
“Let Karma bring her back as a cockroach !”
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Darkness falls, lit only by the candle-boats, now distant as they merge into the night horizon.

It’s difficult when you only have one wish, isn’t it? This made me smile. Who wouldn’t want Spiderman’s powers? 😀
August 28, 2018 at 12:52 pm
Pleased it made you smile ! May you get Spiderman’s powers !!!
August 26, 2018 at 3:45 pm
Lit by dreams and wishes, though some not so nice (just honest). =)
August 26, 2018 at 5:18 pm
Thanks Brenda. I wanted to include a range of wishes.
August 26, 2018 at 3:18 pm
Forgot to tell you I like the path you took on this prompt. All the varied wishes. Well done.

A great mirror on ourselves, with a gentle touch of irony in the mix. Very clever take.

Thank you so much Jilly – I appreciate your feedback.

August 24, 2018 at 5:10 pm

August 26, 2018 at 9:33 am
Thank Penny, pleased that it entertained you.

Save me from chocolate! hit home with me. Lovely mood-setting: the ethereal mixed with the mundane.
August 24, 2018 at 2:22 pm
Aha ! Chocolate eh ? Glad you liked the mood-setting.
August 23, 2018 at 9:35 pm
Dear Francine,
So many wishes, some serious…some self-serving, but that last one? That made me laugh out loud. 😀 Well done.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Thank you Rochelle- I’m happy to make you laugh out loud ! I wanted to put the high flown dreams side by side with daft ones. And include cockroaches of course.
August 24, 2018 at 7:52 pm
The balance and counterbalance is perfect. And OF COURSE cockroaches.
August 23, 2018 at 11:44 am
Quite a few self-serving messages in the mix there. Very human 🙂
August 24, 2018 at 2:34 pm
Thank you Ali- yes, that’s us humans, I agree.
August 23, 2018 at 7:31 am
Love your choice of messages – shows perfectly how humanity thinks, from the surreal to the charitable. Well done
August 23, 2018 at 7:40 am
Thank you Lynne, so glad you enjoyed it. My aim was to gather a sample of people’s dreams. Not sure what I’d wish for !
August 23, 2018 at 8:00 am
World peace sounds like a cliche, but it would be a worthwhile goal, wouldn’t it? My pleasure
August 23, 2018 at 3:25 am
So many wishes. Pray all get fulfilled.
August 24, 2018 at 4:23 pm
Yes, we all have many wishes- hopefully some get fulfilled.
August 22, 2018 at 11:51 pm
Do you now how indestructible cockroaches are? They can survive just about anything. Maybe a fly or a spider would be a better choice 🙂
August 23, 2018 at 7:41 am
Good point Granonine ! Her cockroach incarnation could last for decades…?
August 23, 2018 at 10:34 am
Yup! But I guess that would be a suitable punishment 🙂
August 22, 2018 at 10:31 pm
And all of these messages are the type to show up, of that I am sure. Wonderful take on the prompt, Francine!
August 23, 2018 at 7:43 am
Thank you Dale, so pleased you liked the take. An inspiring photo I found.
August 23, 2018 at 11:07 am
It is indeed!
August 22, 2018 at 5:31 pm
I love the messages, though they made me cringe
August 23, 2018 at 7:45 am
Thanks Neil – pleased you loved the messages, in spite of being cringe-worthy ! I was trying to reflect a sample of humanity.
August 23, 2018 at 8:55 am
And you did
August 22, 2018 at 4:19 pm
I wonder how many of them come true…
August 22, 2018 at 5:21 pm
Yes, good question..do you think maybe only the kind ones come true ?
August 22, 2018 at 8:43 pm
The devil in me likes to think it will only be the nasty ones 😉
August 22, 2018 at 3:55 pm
“Let Karma bring her back as a cockroach !” Great read,
August 22, 2018 at 5:22 pm
Thank you – glad you liked it. Especially the cockroach !!
