I’ve been on holiday  and the experience has made its way into my story, thanks to Sandra’s inspiring photo, and Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers’ challenge.

LIFELINE

“Padski — quick quick, I can hear the train coming- we have so many baskets to load today. Apricots, cherries, peaches, mushrooms, herbs.”

“Yes yes Karina, don’t worry, we’ll stow the baskets in this carriage.”

“Padski we’re so short of money we must sell everything, get a good price at Plovdiv market. Papa needs medicine for his lungs, there’s rent for our bad man landlord or we’ll be out ! Donations to the church. ”

“Karina the sun is shining there’ll be many people at the market today. Our fruit is the best in Bulgaria !  Let’s thank Saint Christopher for this train.”
