THE VISIT
Celeste’s sigh skims the curtain in the night-time kitchen, tidied ready for next day’s breakfast,school and work. How dare they carry on living without her, who’d been the beating heart of this family ? He married Carol three months after Celeste’s passing, carefree and mean Carol. She acquired Celeste’s boys in a heart beat.
Her husband dreams of holding Celeste, but she fades as he reaches out for her. He dreams he can see his boys who are prodding an injured bird with a stick. He wakes full of foreboding and fury at her for leaving him.

So many mixed emotions. It seems even though he married Carol, he still longs for his deceased wife. He is still grieving her and needs to complete that process first before movnig on.

I can understand this so well. One is gone and the other is left to go on with life yet sometimes one tries to replace the one gone rather than move forward in a better way…
