TOPSY TURVY

Darkness falls on this winter solstice night.

‘I am Ned Ludd vagrant of this parish, voted Lord of Misrule this wintertime.

‘Sir Stooge, of her majesty’s court my scurvy servant, bring beer and pies from your kitchens.

My Boy Bishop, shall we fling open the Church coffers, throw coins in the air free for all ? It’s the money we paid in tithes.

What say you my gobbling Goose Parsons ? Quaaaack!.

Stoke the fire bella-donnas, no-one shall sleep cold on the frozen ground whilst I am Ruler.

Apparently I’m to be murdered when Solstice is over. No ! I’ll steal away into the darkness and be gone.‘
