I suppose if you only get one visit a year, Christmas is as good a time as any but what a cruel existence they’ve imposed on her. What could she have done to deserve it?
When I ran a pub in a country village we welcomed Mummers a couple of times a year, and reading your words took me right back to those fabulous events!
We’re all in something of an exile right now, aren’t we? I’d like to go through a magic portal and spend the holiday with my children.

I appreciate your comment Rochelle. Yes wouldn’t it be wonderful to go through a magical portal. I’ve been having conversations with friends recently about this, which brought the yearning close to home.
I wondered about the draconian new legislation imposed on Hong Kong by the Chinese mainland government – end of freedom of speech. Maybe she spoke her mind ? Decided to leave it to the reader.
Speaking for myself, I have family in Scotland whom I miss, always, but even more so in these difficult times when international travel is severely curtailed.
