Sammi’s writing challenge #96 this week is the word : SEASHORE. You have 59 words.
SEASHORE
I splash through the seashore’s edge, lick drops of seawater from my face,
feet making soft sand-prints. Feel the surf as it curls around my ankles.
See sleek sticks of driftwood, fishnets, buttons, toy spades,
razor shells, marbled stones polished by tides,
breathe in the reeky seaweed smells.
I stride into the wind, cheeks ablaze.
The joy of beachcombing.

I love beachcombing too, but I’m not keen on all those folks with metal detectors! A wonderfully descriptive piece.

Thank you Keith – I appreciate your feedback. I do agree about metal detectorists – I was sitting on an idyllic Anglesey beach, so peaceful til a detectorist arrived, & dug up beer bottle tops !
