Making Sense of Life

Friday Fictioneers Nov 12th 2021 MY SELKIE MAIDEN

Thanks to dear  Rochelle for hosting Friday Fictioneers and to Ted Strutz for the photo.

F F’s Nov 12th 2021   Selkie Maiden 1854 Midshipman Jones

We moored by the Northern shore again, unleashing those exquisite memories which changed me forever. I saw my Selkie maiden of the sea through fine mist, was she womankind or sea creature ? I was bewitched  by her unearthly beauty and her voice spun out of glacier ice, be with me she sang. She swam alongside our boat, our gaze locked, as I fell under her spell.

I know my mind is lost. Have I been touched by the divine to return to this place ?
