Rochelle – thanks for hosting this 100 word story challenge. A seasonal photo prompt this week, a table piled high with woolly hats, courtesy of Bjorn Rudberg

Here’s my story.
My Hat
Found my alpaca wool hat, bottom of the drawer bought from a back street stall in Lima. Reds, greens, blues, big rough stitches, bands of colour, smell the earthy wool, scratchy, pulled down over my ears as we climb up the steep mountain path.
The air sharp and pure, distant bells tolling, the sound swallowed up in the huge high space above the mountainside. No need to talk much. Hungry ? How far to get food? Can you smell wood smoke ?
Wish I could fly like that condor and melt into this limitless horizon.

so cool how you let us feel the hat going on and embrace all that and then the second half brought us to adventure with the hat – could almost smell the smoke
